City Icons Awards

Rules

Nominating

  1. Nominations for City Icons can only be made through the web form on the City 125 microsite.
  2. Nominations can be made by anyone, including self-nominations; and the number of nominations is unlimited.
  3. Nominations must be for current or past members of staff, of City, University of London (or any of its previous names) dating back to 1894 and they may be for individuals or teams.
  4. The nominations period opens on 12th April and closes at midnight on 10th May 2019.

Judging

  1. All nominations will be submitted to a judging panel, made up of selected members of City staff.
  2. The panel will assess all entries, for current and past members of staff.
    • For current members of staff they will compile a shortlist of the three strongest candidates in each category and select a winner from the three, to be announced at the awards ceremony.
    • For past members of staff they will compile a long list of the five strongest candidates in each category, which will be passed to Professor Sir Paul Curran. He will select a shortlist of three which will be voted on by members of City staff.

City staff vote for ‘Past members of staff’ only

  1. The City staff voting for the Past member of staff Icon in each category will be held between 7th and 21st June 2019 via the City 125 microsite.
  2. Only members of City staff can vote and only one vote per person is permitted in each category.
  3. The nominee in each category with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be deemed the winner and announced at the awards ceremony.
  4. In the event of a tie, all nominees with the highest number of votes will be awarded City Icon status.
